Marta is originally from Washington state. She has a BS in Biochemistry from University of Oregon. From there she went to the University of Utah and got her PhD in Katie Ullman’s lab working on post-translation modifications in breast cancer. She then moved to Boston to join Paul Anderson’s lab at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital to study how cells respond to stress and mechanisms that underlie cancer and neurodegeneration. When not working, she cases around a toddler, runs for fun, and generally enjoys the outdoors.
