Juan graduated from Brigham Young University in Applied Computational Mathematics and Economics. He has done research in unsupervised natural language processing and in the development of centrality measures for large temporal networks. His interest in the pharmaceutical industry began in high school while researching the cost of pharmaceuticals in several countries, which led to lowering the costs of medications by several millions of dollars in third world countries.
In his spare time he enjoys learning new languages and participating in coding competitions with his wife.
