After receiving her Bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of Washington, Heidi became a lab manager for a lab studying microglia in traumatic brain injury and sleep at the University of Washington. She then completed her Master's in Neuroscience at the University of Utah where she studied the cellular, behavioral, and electrophysiological changes in Parkinson's Disease. While at the University of Utah, Heidi also worked with the Impact Investing team at the Sorenson Impact Center. Here, she learned to assess the financial and social impact viability of life science venture capital investments. Heidi is excited to join the Recursion team and to contribute at the intersection of science, healthcare, and business development.
In her free time, Heidi enjoys rock climbing, board games, quiet evenings with her cats, building terrariums for her reptiles, and promoting science communication through her podcasts.
