At Recursion, Chris J. studies the therapies discovered by our transformative approach in detail, validating them using independent techniques. Chris has extensive experience in cell and molecular biology, microbiology and genetics. During his thesis work at the University of Minnesota, and later at MIT, Chris identified genes and molecular mechanisms used by bacteria to exchange DNA, seeking to understand the evolution of antibiotic resistant pathogens. He has also dissected signaling events that activate the immune system and studied aspects of humoral immunity. Beyond the lab Chris loves taking his family on all sorts of outdoor adventures.
