Chad is a Utah native with a background in biological engineering research, molecular biology, and cell culture. He earned his BS and MS degrees in biological engineering at Utah State University where his research focused on using synthetic biological engineering to improve production of biodegradable plastics, antimicrobial peptides, and cheese. He has also worked with various biotech research groups over the years, including GE Healthcare Life Sciences, the USU Synthetic Biomanufacturing Facility, and the USU Sustainable Waste-to-Bioproducts Engineering Center (SWBEC). In his spare time, Chad is passionate about tabletop gaming with family and friends, practicing and performing music, reading and writing about history and theology, and gardening.
